As today we’ll talk about conditional formatting in templates, I’ll show you how to set them up correctly using our Shared Email Templates add-in for Outlook. Set up conditional formatting to change highlighting, text color and borders width at the same timeįirst off, I’d like to make a small headnote for this blog newcomers.Then I’ll teach you how to make several modifications at a time and color your Outlook table in many different ways. And I can also apply thick outside borders by selecting the cells I want, in this case the original cells plus the ones that contain the headers and the blank in B2. In this case, I'll just go with a standard blue and there we have it. You can either click the last color that was applied, in this case it's red, or you can click the font color controls down arrow and select from theme colors which are covered by office themes, from the standard colors which don't change if you change office themes, or click more colors to select from a rainbow array. To change font color go to the font color control. If you've applied formatting and you want to remove it, you can just click the button you used to apply it. I could've also clicked the bold button here. I typically use bold for this type of heading so I will select cell A1, already was in my case, and press Command + B. The three most common are displayed here and those are bold, italic, and underline. If I wanted to go up one increment, whatever's available next, I can click the increase font size button or to go down click the decrease font size button. If I wanted to type in a specific value, I could click in the text box and type it there. So I'll click the font size control, I'll click this down arrow and then select 18 from the list that appears.
Let's say that I want to change this value in A1 from 12 point to 18 point to make it larger. If I want to change the font, I can change what's called the font face or usually just the font, also its size, style, and color.
I'll start with the label which I want to set apart as a label and you can see that here, in cell A1 monthly revenue. I don't have any formatting applied and I'd like to change a couple of things, the font, the size, the style, and color of some of the cells. This workbook contains a single worksheet with monthly revenue for the calendar years 2013 through 2018. My sample file is the Basic Formatting workbook and you can find it in the chapter six folder of the Exercise Files collection.
